Silver Ranch is in the heart of the Garden Route on South Africa's southern coast, with rustic cottages set around a small game farm. Plettenberg Bay is a short drive away, with swimming beaches, shops and restaurants within about 10 km. The climate is mild all year round.

The cottage has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large loft, and sleeps up to eight people. Keurbooms Beach and the Keurbooms River are both a ten-minute walk away.

The surroundings are serene and peaceful. All the houses face a private game park, and buck graze on the lawn outside the cottages.

Around Plett

Beaches

Central, Lookout, Robberg and Keurbooms are all pristine beaches, good for surfing, long walks and catching some sun.

Keurbooms River

Take a boat or canoe and spend hours cruising up the river through picturesque surroundings. Nearer the mouth, there is wakeboarding and water-skiing.

Eating out

Bramon Wine Estate, Zinzi, Emily Moon and The Fat Fish are all spectacular. Tripadvisor has more recommendations.

Directions

From Cape Town

  1. Follow the N2 past Mossel Bay, George and Knysna. Allow about six hours.
  2. Pass Plettenberg Bay on your right and cross the Bitou River.
  3. About 6 km out of Plett, cross the Keurbooms River bridge, then turn right off the N2. The turning is opposite Thyme & Again, on your left.
  4. Silver Ranch is on the left, 1 km down the road.
